This is a fascinating painting, Margo. My first reaction was, “wow, I like this” and then wished it could be seen in bigger size. It's mysterious and moody to me…adjectives I like about an artwork. The texture and subtle color variations and the darker area where it seems like a path or a flow or I don't know…anyway love it! I will stop analyzing it and simply take it in visually and emotionally.
as usual… it just started with the greens and purple… cant remember if I did it this direction… but more on a side… then had a picture in my minds eye of a babbling brook in michigan… so I let it dry… and not sure now if I want to add leaves and flowers… kinda just like it how it is! altho I have no idea how I down loaded it off an email… my daughter scanned it into her computer and sent it to me in email… and had forgotten how to download or upload or whatever I should do… so it just came out small. it is really on 11” x 15” paper… but the textures, even tho flat of watercolor, have some cool things in there, which cannot be seen on this thumbnail… and if you look at this one… there is a strange old man in it with a long nose and chin… have no idea where he came from … hahahahahahahahah or move an inch or two and it is a different face… anyway… no deep analysis is needed… it just is what it makes you feel like! and I still cant decide which way to face it, dark purple on bottom or top… or leave it on side… fun thing is… if you turn it , it feels like a different painting… and I like those mysterious and moody things too… painting is always more fun for me when i dont think about what I am doing, just mush the paint and see what shows up! the next day I often see the mood I was in – after the fact!!! and this one obviously has some pensive blueness to it… waiting to burst forth … something… perhaps a scream fest! ♥ I love that we talk about moods and paintings and shouting and screaming! it opens up the space for more creating!!! thanks so much Lahn! with love..♥
